Hometown weddings have so many benefits. One of the best feelings from the heart is coming home for the holidays, so why not host your wedding in your hometown?
Many of my clients choose to have their wedding in their hometown because of all the benefits. They also have a lot of love and pride for where they grew up, and wish to share it with their family and friends. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest advantages of a hometownremendo wedding.
You are in familiar territory: You know your way around, and can save a lot of time by knowing what you like, and don’t like for venues. You can also utilize your favorite restaurants for your rehearsal dinner, and can easily create a list of places to go for your guests during their stay. Here in Tucson, many couples add hiking trails, golf courses, and historical landmarks to visit. I recently had a couple use Eegee’s bags to package their guest welcome bag items in along with a gift card and the story behind their favorite sandwich growing up. You can have so much fun with this!
Combine vendor appointments with family visits: Do you come home for major holidays to see your family? This is the perfect time to book your vendor appointments, and take a family member with you to include them in the fun! Your wedding is the final product of all of the planning, and you should enjoy it as much as the actual wedding day.
Choosing wedding vendors in your hometown: This is one of the biggest advantages of all. It is much easier to get solid recommendations in your hometown because you have family and friends who see and hear about the local vendors, and have used them in the past. Choosing your wedding gown in your hometown is also a great idea because you don’t have to ship it after it arrives. You can get all your alterations done before the wedding, and they will gladly steam your dress for you so it is ready to wear for your big day! Plus, if you need anything last minute, they are right there, and happy to assist at a moment’s notice. Your peace of mind is everything! Hiring a seasoned wedding planner who knows your hometown is also essential. I describe myself to my clients as their “boots on the ground” person who is their eyes and ears, and can easily carry out anything for them. When you are far away, or very busy with daily life, I am the person who is taking care of all the things that will allow you to enjoy every minute of your wedding experience.
